Sorry to throw negativity out there, but I have to doubt the results without A-B-A-B testing.
If you look at the attached photos of my car that i tufted, you can clearly see that there is attached flow all along the front of the car except where there is turbulent flow around the wheel wells.Note that there is even attached flow around the fake brake ducts / fog light ducts / whatever they are thingees. My guess = Simply extending the bumper and rounding it off will only cause more air to go under the dirty underside of the car. Any improvements most likely came from the grille being blocked.
