Not quite so cut and dried IMHO. On this side of the pond view people are fancy pants enough to own a big capacity engine car. A
well designed exhaust "header" (aka Manifold) and system can realise some decent returns - sometimes double figure % in terms of HP. One just bought over the counter and bolted on probably won't have much if any difference.
Hence my questions on cams and matching.
But TBH swapping the exhaust for a standard one and making less noise will result in a far more relaxing and economical drive.
Kind of like playing easy listening instead of death metal...
