That would help.
Lowering can be expensive for a rather limited return in fuel efficiency - making it uneconomical.
An airdam would also help, preferably with sideskirts below the chassis
Belly pan. Grille block.
Do a search for Phil Knox's (aerohead) T100 to see what can be done if you're willing to go the distance.

A plain flat cover for the bed will help and is easy to build.
Nothing will beat a sloping, aerodynamic cover though.
