Change your driving style and habits, using the
100+ Hypermiling / ecodriving tips & tactics for better mpg - EcoModder.com
as a guide.

Start with the less visible mods :

More pressure in the tyres.
Many on here run the max. sidewall pressure on the tyres, some run even higher pressures. I run 3.5 bar (51 psi) the rated max of the tyre.

Upper grille block - partial or even full if that doesn't lead to excessive heat in the Ozzie summer.

but I have taken out about 70kg by swapping the spare tyre for a can of goo, leaving out the boot floor / lining, removing the rear door electric lock actuators, some rear parcel shelf sound deadening - which did not seem to make any sound difference.
It'll always help a bit, but weight reduction helps most when you're doing much stop & go / city driving.
On the motorway; the effect is hard to spot.

Obviously, a small bit here and there will help the overall fuel efficiency.
