One popular option is to buy a 'worn out' hybrid and using it as a teaching tool, a way to learn hybrid mechanics. I just heard of a 2001 Prius with 300K miles in Texas that is available. Then you'll have a self-maintenance, hybrid car that can deliver significant mileage. . . . just a thought.
