Seems like those little internal ramps might help a bit with the circulating bubble, making it somewhat better than a naked truck bed, but not nearly as good as a properly faired and tapered bed cover as done by others on this website.
For the faired truckbed cover, instead of plywood and 2x4 lumber, why not Coroplast with stiffeners inserted into the flutes? Lighter, maybe cheaper, could flatten out and carry in the bed when not needed.
