From an "eco"-nomics perspective changing engines may or may not make sense. How many miles are you going to be able to drive your Jag before it is rusted out? We have been paying at least 10% more for diesel fuel than for gas.

Cold weather starting is always more problematic with a diesel. I have 3 diesel engines one car and two tractors. None of them want to start unless plugged in in the winter.
