Mount it on the passenger headrest? Maybe it's not so important to watch the gauge as it is to see the driving technique.
I'd be happy to strap my friend's GoPro camera in and drive around for awhile.
A video of PaleMalestinian's driving technique would be golden. I know he gets some insane mileage with a stock car.
