That is excellent mileage for that vehicle, but, there is one thing to point out. That part of the country tends to have a fairly constant and sometimes quite strong westerly wind. I discovered this on my trip out west in my old toyota RV. Headed into that wind, I was typically in 3rd gear pedalling that old 22RE/auto for all it was worth, making decidely less than 35 mpg. On the way home, I was in OD rolling along at 65-70 no problem. Still well less than 35 mpg, unfortunately.
