It does sound like a good idea to entertain it, but it isn't broken currently
. I'm not sure if it has an effect on accuracy like the crystal, the injector interrupt is still pretty tight and its resolution is tied to the cpu clock and registers. And the cpu is not currently overloaded.
I'll run some tests over the serial port when I get a chance.
