There's a frontal area advantage to begin with,as with a Karmann Ghia.
The body pictured could use a nose modification to get the air around.And the rocker panel area would be better flush with the tires all the way down and behind the rear tires.
The C-pillar buttresses could be relaxed also,lofting them closer to the Template.
It would be a good starting place.
Your car reminds me of Fiberfab's Valkerie of the early 1970s.
