I was told that my CRD was, for some reason, achieving less than the typical fleet average in stock form (a measly 22 mpg)

Or, he could just get a CTD and 22-mpg average is a tad more impressive considering potential work load.

I do like the Jeeps. I've read, however, that it is a 150-180k mile vehicle for longevity before real problems tend to emerge.

Too bad he thinks slower speeds are actually slower. They tend to be a great deal more consistent on-highway as other traffic brakes, and slows, and changes lanes, and enters/exits metro areas. All speed killers. 80 really isn't 80 in other words.

In contrast, 58-mph on the CC and never slow, never move around, etc. And a lot faster than it at first seems.

Man, if he can get 34, how far off is 40-mpg?
