AAARGH!
The wife's FSP had a catastrophic problem and spent a few weeks in the shop. I was in a rental and she was in my car, and she doesn't keep track of mileage. I got the Bobsled back last Monday- she had put 1530 miles on it and the car's gauge read 24.0. I put another 140 moles on the remaining tank, bringing the gauge up to 24.6. I was pretty pleased with that increase.
Now this morning I filled up again. The car read 30.3, not bad considering that I lose a lot of EOC now that it's getting dark early (no kill switch yet, and turning the key kills my lights- bad in traffic). The pump didn't print my receipt, so I wrote numbers on a scrap of paper, reset the numbers and continued on to work. As soon as work settled down I went to update my fuel log and found that I hadn't written down the miles on the tank. No data.
