You all are definitely right. This device fools a standard exhaust emissions test as it is essentially a carbon trap. A normal fuel economy test (FTP or other) uses a carbon balance equation to determine fuel economy. Since the Blade captures some of the carbon coming out, the emissions analyzers see less carbon, so the calculation shows that less fuel was used.
It is a unicorn in regards to fuel economy. It does reduce emissions so it does do something!
