My wife reluctantly tolerates my foolishness. I've installed an SGII in her car, and one of the gauges I've set up is trip fuel cost. That, more than anything else, catches her attention, since she doesn't like the $40 and $50 fueling cost. When she sees that trip A costs her a dollar, she thinks about consolidating them.

She had a knee replacement last Summer, and I put my first two full local driving tanks through her AT Elantra. I managed 33.3 mpg and 35.0 mpg, v. the 40+ mpg I've averaged on long trips. She averages more like 25 mpg because of short trips to McGrease, Booger King, etc.

She hypermiles the most by letting me drive wherever we go together. She asked me to drive her to her college twice earlier this week for registration, and I got ~60 mpg driving my car.
