Did you notice a difference with blink speed? I noted while shopping that they "Suggest" you use a Load resister to "simulate" the additional draw of the incadesent bulbs, this prevents the mechanical blinker unit from failing due to lack of Draw.

I noticed the Bulbs go for about 1-2 $@ the resisters go for 4-5$@ or I can get a solid state Blinker module for $15 that has no minimum draw so works with LED lights. (Dont remember what the trailer conversion units like you got cost). if I go with bulbs. Im lookig at 30+ dollars for resisters and might as well just go with a solid state Blinker unit. (Which I might do anyways... anyone played with these?)

Love your write up by the way, looking at doing something similar with my Metro.
