RE Snow Tires

I have been running Firestone Winter force Snow tires on my Jetta since I got it. My mileage didn't seem to decrease from the worn all season tires I had on it. In the summer I got as high as 57 mpg. I keep them at 51 psi. The roads around here get pretty sloppy in the wet. The road commissioner spares the chip and many times in the winter and wet season the ruts get deep. I don't want to jack around changing tires or wheels. My tires will dry rot before I would wear two sets out.
