everything, everywhere I have read all says keep air out from under the car at all costs. So, I have used a plastic chin spoiler on many cars - if it scrapes, no big deal.
1/8 inch UHMW is really tough stuff, but you can't glue it - only screw it to things using bolts and sheet metal screws.
