Closer to $400 than $4000, though I don't bother to keep track. $20 in the Insight every 3-4 weeks, sometimes longer. Probably a couple hundred in the Toyota pickup the last couple of months, but since most of that was burned hauling firewood that'll replace maybe $2K in heating oil over the next couple of years, I'd call it a win.
Also have to figure that the average includes the neighbor down the road (Mr. Richard Head, as he's known in the neighborhood - we're a formal crowd :-)) who idles his oversized diesel pickup for 15-30 minutes every morning.
