I bought my 2nd one by putting a want ad on craigslist and I ended up buying the one that I liked the most, mostly because it had been stored inside most of it's life and had a set of batteries so I could take it for a test drive.
my first one I bought from a friend who I was talking to about electric cars and telling him about these cool little wedge shaped electric cars that I was looking at online, he turned to me and said "I have one of those" I had known this guy for years and never knew this, my point is, talk to people, net work, post want ads!
enough people know that I'm in to them now that I get phone calls and news paper clippings and google earth street view links, there are around 15 or so that I know about in my state/area and I live in Wisconsin, far from being the hub of electric vehicles.
