I searched around for some info and all I found was a
Ford Ka press release in Polish. At the bottom it pretty much says that the "Step 1" was Ford's step towards very low fuel consumption. It had a prototype 3-cylinder turbodiesel, LRR tires, an economical transmission, and lightweight carbonfiber chassis elements. Fuel consumption was less than 3 l/100km.
