That style for the cabin and rear roofline seems to have been popular for quite a few years after the war too - I'm thinking Cadillac coupe and the factory bodied Rolls models of the late 40s and into the 50s. And the early postwar Mercs.

Even Standard (who later renamed to Triumph) got into the act post war.



(This car has the same engine as the Triumph TR2).

Maybe we need to start a seperate GEEKS thread as this one is about aero cars
