This cracked me up:
Kierowcy mają dość! Będą blokady dróg! (Drivers have had enough! Roads will be blocked!)
It's in Polish, so here is more or less what it's about
(my comments in italics):
Polish drivers have had enough of high fuel prices, so they are organizing protests. A few examples:
- Drive slow on the highways (Gee, I've been protesting all these years without even knowing it)
- Work-to-rule, or Italian strike - drive without breaking any laws (Ditto)
- Carpooling to work. If you carpool with a few neighbors, then you can use 3-5 times less fuel. That way Big Oil makes a smaller profit. (Not only does Big Oil make less money, but you save more. Duh.)
- Buy fuel for only 20 PLN (4.65€) at a time. (For some people, this would mean filling up 1-3 times on their way to work. Frequent stops won't improve your milage IMHO.)
I'll add that the fuel prices here (up to 6 PLN/liter, or 1.40€/l, for diesel) are among the lowest in Europe.
When fuel prices were creeping towards 5 PLN a year ago, everyone claimed that would be the end of the world. Somehow we survived, but only to cry the same thing all over again
This circus just goes round and round...
