Which is why a stock PCV valve will slam shut automatically if there's a backfire. It won't ignite those blowby gases if the engine backfires. No microprocessor needed.

Yes, it's very possible. The method currently used to do this exact thing is called the positive crankcase ventilation system. You might know it as PCV.

So... How again does your magic doohickey manage to make an internal combusion somehow develop a 25% improvement in fuel economy?
