these golf cart batteries are lead acid (no gel, no "glass mat"(whatever) and are quite pricy.

I called the local "batteries plus" and sure enough a group 31 battery was

batteries plus just did not tell me over how many hours the 100ah rating has been taken over

is there any advantage of having the trojan or ultrapower battery over the $99 "batteries plus" model?
I don't see any as they are both standard lead acid.

please correct me if I'm wrong here

I'm sure that the 100Ah is a 20 hour rating, pretty much everything is unless otherwise stated I believe.

The Trojan battery will probably be a higher quality battery, and will be made to hold up to more vibration and possibly be setup easier to add water to. In actuality it will probably hold up to more cycles as well. How many more I have absolutely no idea. They are the big guy in the world of lead acid batteries and you gotta pay for the name too. I'm not sure how their warranty holds up against batteries plus warranty, but I would hope its better/longer.
