Never heard of the explosive tire mounting technique...
So I went on the Interweb.
Lots of videos; from newbies barely having a clue as to
what to do, to obviously experienced hands.
It actually doesn't look that dangerous. There can be an
explosion inside the tire when the air/fuel mixture is
between the lower and upper explosive limits of the
chosen fuel. Either too lean or too rich a mixture and
nothing happens. I suspect that the expanding forces on
the tire are evenly distributed and on any small section
of the tire are less than hitting a pothole at a good speed.
