My VW Golf had a broken mounting for the Cat convertor. The local VW stealer wanted nearly UK£1000 to fix it.... I said 'no thanks' and went down the road to the local exhaust place and had it welded for UK£20.00

That was 2 years ago, and it's still going strong... (I could get a new cat on ebay for UK£150-00)
