99% of people who want to buy less gas want to do so TO SAVE MONEY. not to send a message to "big oil". So no, that is nearly everyone they just don't fully realize their mistake OR they simply have a lot more cash at their disposal.

they convince themselves buying a prius will "save them money" and it won't. ever. unless your a cabby in NY.

the volt is a flat out rip off at its price and specs.

the LEAF is one of the cheapest new cars you can buy!! at a ten year TRC of $43k !!

almost as cheap as my 20yo Used 55mpg yearly average METRO !! (TRC $32k)

if it was not for the paultry just over 2 year warranty on the battery I might be tempted to buy a leaf!

Plus High MPG does not save money in the long run. as the national average fuel economy goes up the price of gas MUST go up to match it. ie your CPM stays the same unless your "outside the curve" (such as with us metro drivers etc..)
