Two 120L cryogenic LNG tanks (stainless steel, double wall with high vacuum insulation to keep the liquid fuel below -260F for extended periods of time) - $15K each. Hydraulic powered LNG pumps - draws LNG from tanks, pressurizes it to 4000-4500 psi and evaporates it using engine coolant for heat - $5K each. CNG accumulator (carbon fiber) - $8K. Six fancy fuel injectors - $1200 each, lots and lots of R&D - priceless. Oops, this turned into a plug for Mastercard.
It's a factory option for Kenworth and Peterbilt right now, more OEMs to come.
In fleet that basically runs 24-7, $80K per truck will be absorbed into fuel savings relatively quickly. Plus, they get to play the green card to attract customers and get government grants.
