I know of at least one exception: When I switched from standard steel rims to ultralights from a Citroën C5, my Peugeot hubcaps no longer fit. The Citroën wheels are aluminum, yet made to be the same shape as normal steelies. Their inside flange is just a tad bit too small to force my OEM caps in.

If I were to buy aftermarket caps, which I will at some time, I'd first try to fit them.
