my father in law had an early 90s crown vic. woulod do high twenties on the highway, no problem.
as for the recommendation to engine off coast, please do not. it doesn't matter if it is safe from a tranny wear point of view, it is a horrible idea. i would never EOC an automatic car. very unsafe.
