Maybe it's time to bike.
Pain is because despite the weight loss, you're still heavy. You have to build up strength, but you have to watch your foot bones. A pair of good running shoes should have adequate cushioning. Don't go for those ultra-light ones, go for something with better heel cushioning.
And invest in a breathing mask. If you're in Manila, the pollution isn't good for your lungs. Probably worse than a few cigarettes a day.
