Maybe the effect of the ESP's corrections is less than what the car expected it to be due to the reduced grip of the tyres ?
Hägar's combined ESP-TC system occasionally kicks in on wet roads.
Usually to keep the front wheels from spinning in 1st gear - but then it also did that with Conti Sportcontact 3 rubber.
Occasionally however it feels the need to help keep the lightened rear end in line.
It doesn't appear like it has a problem with the tyres, as the corrections are OK, though I'm not really pushing that hard, and usually I'm also reducing steering input (i.e. mildly countersteering) by the time the ESP light comes on .
For the time being, in the wet, you've got to accept you're closer to the limits with LRR tyres and drive accordingly.
