well i do appreciate the suggestion, but in this tire range the only way to get a larger circumference is to go wider (i can only get maybe 75%tall). in fact, the biggest 17" tire i can get in this brand/model is 265/70/17, that is almost an inch wider and 38lbs for just 8.9% reduction in rpm (just shy of 2000). i would have increased drag, increased RR, increased unsprung weight, AND possible fitment issues.

what part of this is an old wives tale?

however, since she does mostly city and short highway driving, i found a slightly smaller tire that is 3lbs lighter and 1/2 inch narrower, but will increase rpm's by 40 @60mph.(1.8%)
