He's got 100,000 miles on that accord. With the original tires, even. It's fully ok with the transmission on that model.

He has replaced the starter - ONCE - at 97,000 miles. That's within statistical probability for "normal" use, even. 100,000 miles at 48mpg vs the epa rating of 24 = 2000 gallons saved. At $3.00 a gallon, that's $6,000. More than enough to pay for a starter.

Wayne is the same guy who, two weeks ago, drove a CBS prius from Chicago to New York on a single tank of gas - 800 miles.

If anyone's doing Hypermiling right, it's Wayne.
