Hey all from southern WI. I've been trying to improve my mileage primarily in my civic, because the 15 mile drive to work chews up about a gallon a day (30 miles both ways). I mainly drive to work on a 55mph highway, but I used to drive through the country (35-45mph) and really enjoyed it. No traffic, I could P&G to my heart's delight. I did get stopped by "the fuzz" one day for race-lining it around a corner. Apparently he disagreed with my entering the oncoming lane on both entry and exit. :P Coincidentally, I first noticed that my muffler was falling apart _that day_, and when he caught up with me, I was on the side of the road with my head under the car. He didn't give me a ticket.

I've been logging mileage since I got the car 7 years ago, but I really haven't recorded much of it into a digital format - it's all on receipts in the car. I'm lazy that way.

I'm a web developer by trade, so I plan on writing a mileage-logging utility I can access from my smartphone - just a simple web form for gallons used and current mileage entry.

I've got no mileage data for the truck though, because it's not registered yet. I want to be pretty radical with it - adding a fastback and probably adding a hump to the cab roof to improve laminar flow across the top. It's primarily going to be a tow vehicle for transporting our little sailboat, but it's a rusty hunk-o-junk so I can be as drastic in my mods as my heart desires.

I'm learning a lot here, and really happy to have a good ecodriving resource online. Thanks, all!
