To make or not to make reversible mods

I'm going to be modifying my Ford Focus very shortly after I get my designs all figured out. My dad seems to think that I should go to the junk yard and buy copies of the parts(Hatch, Front bumper, etc.) that I will be drilling so that I could return the car to stock for selling it if I have to

I feel that I'm never going to be selling the car so why spend the money on parts that I'm never going to need. I can fix pretty much anything that goes wrong so I imagine I will be keeping the car for a long time. If I ever go to sell the car, I figure I can replace those parts at that time but it just doesn't make sense for me to do it now.

The cheapest hatch that I found was $175 which is a lot of money to spend so that I can store the original hatch in my attic for years to come.

What do you guys think I should do?
