YKYAEM if...
... You can't just get in the car, turn the key, and drive off. No, you have a whole ceremony to carry out, which starts 1-2 hours earlier when you plug in the engine prewarmer. You might also hook up a charger to top off the battery and open the windows to give the car time to cool off before getting in. As the take-off deadline gets closer, you're busy checking tire pressure, removing/installing rear seats (if needed), cleaning the windows (yes, it's been that long since your last trip), etc. The last few minutes before starting are a fury: remove windshield sunshade, remove side window sunshades, unplug prewarmer and/or battery charger. You're finally sitting behind the wheel, but you still have to check if your grille blocks are closed and the trip OBC reseted. Seatbelt. Now you've turned the key and your accessories come to life, so you check out the coolant temperature on your ScanGauge, write it down in your notebook along with the outdoor temperature and how long the block heater was plugged in. You have your finger on the engine start button, but your eyes are checking out the situation in the mirrors, assessing traffic. Now! Start the engine and you're off! Don't pay attention to the idjit who came out of nowhere, going much faster than the speed limit, honking at you for being born. Here we go again...
