Thanks to all for their posts, first to Ralph from Luton, sorry its a Land Rover not a Range Rover. Those are too high end for me and I like old school stuff. I like the fact there is no computer or electronics, the Landy only has two glass fuses to run the whole thing.
Secondly to Sliverinsight2, yes the body is made of Ally. After WWII there was lots of Ally around but not much steel, so Steel frames with Ally body panels.
Now I have been giving it some decent runs it seems to be smoking less and running better, also it gets a lot of attention when on the road.
My wife just purchased a 1990 mint Mazda Miata (red) with 73,000 km on it to supplement her 2003 Cooper S. I have three oil changes to do this morning.
