It seems like the concept is a step backwards with respect to mass and collision safety.
The body-on-frame would add weight and anyone struck by this vehicle would be at greater risk for injury or death,as there would be compromises to progressive deformation and kinetic energy dissipation upon impact.
The additional mass would frustrate urban stop and go mpg potential.
The 'system' might also require a higher center of gravity.
