Wow that's weird, I'm not exactly sure why it's doing so crappy 'cause I'm not the most experienced mechanic in the world... But I wonder if your carb is adjusted right? Being that this runs on LPG, is the fuel line under a bit of pressure? (EDIT: IE is it under MORE pressure than it was originally designed to run) It could be possible that the fuel line is leaking somewhere, especially if it's older.
Hopefully someone else smarter than me reads this and can give you better ideas. Best of luck.
