My guess is that you need to go farther before you can calibrate. The farther you go, the better your readings will be.
Is the speedo reading high the car's, the Ultragauge's, or both? All the vehicles I've used my Ultragauge have read higher on the car's speedo, but the odometer between the two is correct. Manufactures probably have the speedo read a little high on purpose, so they can't be blamed for someone speeding.
