First consistent non-special-conditions sustained 28MPG or more on the readout (so far). 180+ miles driven. I'd think it's more like 27 since I've seen the display be 1-3MPG too optimistic, but I haven't filled up yet so I don't know if it's wrong. I've also seen the display be 0.1MPG different from the pump/miles driven calculation as well.
NOTE: Special Conditions refers to the following, in which a V6 hybrid SUV dinged as a "fuel sucking pig" (and whose owners frequently gripe about 22MPG against a 27-28 rating) can return 34MPG(!).
On the highway, if the traffic rarely truly stops but also rarely exceeds 40MPH, it is possible to obtain these extreme numbers (30MPG+) through pulse-and-glide. This was verified over six weeks of driving through Boston's Big Dig.
