While the Prius C is based off a Yaris, isn't the regular Prius based off a Toyota Corrola platform, same as the Toyota Matrix, part of why it was easy to build the Prius V, a car that looks a lot like a Matrix.
Of course the first generation Prius was based off the Toyota Ecco and that line was named Yaris if I'm not mistaken, so really the Prius is going back to it's short lived roots of being based off of a small car.
I agree with the end comment on the blog about how it will also most likely be my next car as well, in 10 years when I can pick one up cheap, that is if I still feel like owning a gasoline car.
