I think you guys are looking at this wrong anyway.

Its not about whats good, its what will sell.

Cars with 60 mpg? Pffft, give me a V8 automatic pickup to get groceries.
Going green is the current trend, for better or worse, and someone is just trying to capitalize on that. I'm sure there are TONS of people who just want to be able to say "My convertibles a hybrid"

BTW, the convertible I rode in was a cavalier z24 and it got around 32 on the interstate, with an automatic transmission. Whats a normal Z24 2000 cavalier get?
