I had a leaking float valve in my toilet. Instead of replacing the $10 part, I took it as a $10 off sale and bought a whole new toilet. The new one is a 1.0 gallon flush, and still flushes better than the old 3.5 gal unit.
It will easily pay for itself in water savings in a couple years. Why didn't I do this sooner?
