Oregon allows self-insurance too with $55k. I've thought about it before, and now that I have that laying around I should reconsider it. I'm surprised they allow such a low number since the state minimum for bodily injury is $50k and property damage minimum is $20k. That leaves a $15k gap.

You don't get a greater discount by driving more; just the opposite in fact. You start out with a 30% discount, and the number goes down based on how much you drive, at what hours, and how many hard stops you make.

What insurance company had the same or better rates? I'm always open to jumping ship if something cheaper comes along.
