Actually, the city numbers are 52 mpg versus the 40-something city numbers the Metro got. And in a car that has much more interior space and power.

The Prius may share something with the Corolla, but the chassis and legroom feel much different. The Prius C shares more with the Yaris than the 3rd gen shares with the Corolla, and even then, it's stretched out versus the previous Yaris it was based on.

Still an expensive car for the utility, but a much more realistic proposition for most of us than a bigger hybrid.
