That was really what I was after, a list of cars I can start looking for in my area. Armed with your list of suggestions, I'm ready to do some serious shopping around. I also feel better about knowing when I stumble upon a deal.
You're right. It isn't just a romantic notion to be able to fix your own stuff. I know that now, but I didn't last year at this time.
