Fuelly has enough entries that I think it is approaching having a significant level of validity for many models.

It would be nice to be able to somehow have the average for a particular model available on Fuelly, but as they state it would then lend itsself to owners of a particular model gaming the system. And who's gonna check the figures? In scrubbing the data I found one entry at like 6033mpg. Several others under 15mpg, which I don't think is even possible.
